Book Club at What It Is Gallery during QUAD CORE in Feb, 2012
Book Club is a mobile reading room, and a platform for researching and experimenting with printed multiples. Book Club celebrates and criticizes mass-produced work and printed multiples as art media, and also a main conduit for concept, process, ephemeral oriented art work. It is an alternative way of experiencing art, while the medium of Book harks back to the ideal public sphere: reading is the original conversational medium. Through different modes of interaction, Book Club promotes the participation from both the readers and artists as part of a much larger, ongoing conversation within contemporary art.
